Gen 1: Introduction

Why hello there person-who-is-probably-reading-this!
My name is Vedette Szalony, and I just recently aged up into a YA. People have always whispered behind my back about how I wasn't going to amount to much, because I have the insane trait and do things a little.. differently than most 'normal' Sims. I wear my formal wear in the pool, I talk to myself, I go to bed when I'm not tired.. that doesn't mean I can't function out there in the real world! No! It doesn't! So I decided, I'm going to show everyone - I would make something of myself. But what could I do? I debated several different things, before I finally decided. What better way to show everyone that Sims with the insane trait can function as well as 'regular' Sims than with a legacy challenge, with the optional 'family trait' rule! Haha, take that!
So, I'm moving away from Bridgeport, where I was born and raised, and going to Riverview, buying the biggest plot of land I can.

Here's what I've got so far, with only eighty-five simoleons left to my name! Isn't it cute? I have my little bathroom, a shower, a fridge, and a bed. I need more than that, but I can always go out to get some stuff I need, right?

Here's me in front of my new land. I am so excited to get started on my own life, in this cute little country town. I've never even visited the country before! As you can probably tell by my attire. Maybe I'll change to overalls later, that would be so cute!
So, I need to tell you a little more about myself. I'm a pisces, my favorite food is sushi, I love custom music, and my favorite color is white - so I like most of my colors to be light! As I said before, I'm insane, and proud of it. I'm also brave, family-oriented (I want lots of babies!), eccentric, and a hopeless romantic. I want a prince charming!
My life time want is to become a Monster Maker! But before I can do that, I'm going to need money.

Getting dressed in my formal wear - hey, this isn't just due to my insanity, doesn't it make sense to dress nicely for a job interview? - I headed straight to the police station, knowing exactly what I wanted to do. Being in the law enforcement career will definitely help with the bills, at least at first. Maybe later I'll become a self-employed inventor, but that will be after I find my prince charming.

Do you know how satisfying it is to be employed for the first time in your life? And to prove everyone you knew in your life wrong? Upon walking out of the police station, I grinned with pride. They'd hired me, right there on the spot. Even though I'm insane.

I didn't know what to do with the rest of my day. Work started on Monday - it was Sunday - and I had the entire day free. So, I thought I may as well get started on my inventing skill, and headed off to the firehouse where I knew there was a inventor table that the community could use for free. Upon walking inside, though, I had a realization, and hissed to myself, "You silly idiot! You have no money, you can't buy scrap! Don't call me an idiot, you didn't think of it either. Just go to the junkyard and pick some up then come back! Don't tell me what to do."
One thing about being insane? I've never been lonely.

Oh my! Is that a man?
Upon walking into the junkyard's office, I saw that there were only two people there. A man and a woman - the woman was just standing there, reading a book, and the man was sitting at a desk, doing.. nothing. I, admittedly, just stared at him, after I walked inside. Then he stood up, and I almost blushed, thinking he must have been kind of creeped out, but then he smiled and introduced himself as Odin Crosby. Maybe I had found my prince charming already? What luck!
I noticed that the woman standing there kept glancing at us out of the corner of her eye, though. I had to wonder what her problem was. I hope he's not her husband.

Oh my, look at the crowd I attracted! Must be my magnetic nature, heehee.

After a little bit of talking to Odin, I decided that I should introduce myself to some of the other people in the room. I went around introducing myself to random people, including the woman that was reading. Her name was Heather Crosby.. and she didn't look much like Odin, so that must mean they're married. Well, he's out then, I may be insane but I won't ever steal someone else' husband!
I continued going around and introducing myself to peeps, ending on this guy, Buck Broke. He's the cute farmer type, and I find him absolutely adorable. We talked for only a moment, before I decided that I should really do what I went there to do.

As I headed outside, I swear my fist was going to hit me! Like ker-pow, blam, crack! But we came to an agreement, and it just slapped me lightly, like a love tap. I think some of the other people in the room stared at me as I left, but I'm used to that.

Time to find some scraps, so I can get to work on my LTW. I dug for only about a half an hour before I got to the bottom of the pile. "Aw, only nineteen scraps? That's barely enough to dabble, let alone invent.." I pouted, and then went to the other piles, but they'd been cleaned out of good scrap already. So I suppose I'll just have to make due with nineteen units of scrap. Off to the firehouse!

I dabbled, and dabbled, and dabbled, and.. ran out of scrap before I figured out what I was doing. So much for that. But my tummy was rumbling, so maybe it was for the best. Since Hogan's Deep-Fried Diner only cost 12 simoleons a person, I decided to eat there instead of at home. I need to get myself out there, anyway! Be seen, introduce myself to locals.

I changed into my athletic wear, and headed into the diner. Athletic wear makes more sense than fancy clothes going into a diner, don't you think? See, I have my reasoning. When I came back out, it was dark out and I was too tired to do much of anything else, so I went home.

And got right into bed when I got home. In my formal wear. I honestly don't have any explanation for this one other than that I like it!

Sorry the introduction is so long and not that interesting, but my first day couldn't be all excitement, could it? I just moved in, honestly. Other entries will hopefully be less.. minute-by-minute and more fun. I hope I get enough money for my own inventor table soon! And find a prince charming, oh and maybe learn to make a time machine, that would be cool.
Anyway, I hope you liked it! Keep reading if you did!
